Frost & Sullivan – 2011 Global Enabling Technology Award
Frost & Sullivan, a global research organization presented the 2011 Global Enabling Technology Award in Computer-aided Design (CAD) to Geometric, for our unique design for manufacturability product, DFMPro.Based on the findings of Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices research for addressing ‘key industry challenges’ through an enabling technology, DFMPro was selected for its ability to facilitate upstream design validation for manufacturability, by providing an automated design review process and employing a standard operating procedure for knowledge capture and reuse; thereby reducing time taken for design validations and eliminating costs related to design errors.
“The Computer-aided design (CAD) market has emerged with high-end design products capable of achieving complex product designs that necessitate laborious manufacturability checks. Geometric’s DFMPro is an innovative design analysis tool that can establish a streamlined design methodology and enable end-users implement an automated design review process. This reduces time spent on manual design manufacturability checks considerably and improves overall productivity. DFMPro is increasingly becoming a technological enhancement essential to complete the CAD initiative of an enterprise. Geometric’s active pursuit in improving DFMPro over the years reflects its strategic intent in enhancing this technology and makes it well deserving of this recognition.”
– Karthik Sundaram, Senior Research Analyst, Industrial Automation & Process Control, Frost & Sullivan
Every year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has developed a pioneering technology that not only enhances current products but also enables the development of newer products and applications. The award recognizes the high market acceptance potential of the recipient’s technology.

NASSCOM IT Innovators, 2008
NASSCOM*, India’s premier trade body for software and services companies, conferred Geometric Limited as one of the IT Innovators for the second year in a row. Geometric received this commendation for our automated design for manufacturability tool DFMPro
DFMPro captures design for manufacturability guidelines to help designers ‘get designs right the first time’, thereby considerably reducing design time and iterations.
Being integrated within the CAD software used for designing, the designer can easily run DFMPro to automatically detect areas in the design that do not conform with manufacturing rules. The built-in customizable design guidelines are of tremendous help to new designers for understanding the rules to be followed, and incorporating the learning of experienced designers. The tool also helps educational institutes and industries in training designers to create designs that are viable to manufacture.
The award was accorded to Geometric for the creation of a new tool by using existing IP for addressing a critical pain area of the industry; and reducing the time for checking manufacturability of designs by 90%.
IIT Bombay Alumni Association – Top Innovation Award
Geometric’s DFMPro was recognized as a top innovation in science and technology at Innovations 2010, held at Mumbai, India in February, 2010. Innovations is an annual event organized by IIT Bombay Alumni Association to foster innovation in the society.
