The collaboration between HCL DFMPro and the University of Michigan (UMICH) began in 2021 with a shared goal of integrating advanced manufacturing software into academic curricula. This partnership enables students to gain hands-on experience with HCL DFMPro, equipping them with valuable skills for their future careers.
About the Collaboration

Course Integration: Under the guidance of Professor Kazuhiro Saitou, a dedicated course was designed to include DFMPro software assignments as part of the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) subject. This initiative allows both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students to apply theoretical concepts in a practical setting.
Highlights:
- 2021: The first session was conducted online, marking the beginning of this collaboration.
- September 2022: The second session was held in-person, by Yogiraj.
- February 2023: The third session took place at the University of Michigan, with over 200 UG and PG students participating.
